Berhampur: Police arrested a 27-year-old jawan of Indian Air Force on Saturday here for maintaining a physical relationship with a woman on the pretext of marriage, before his marriage with another woman scheduled on Sunday.The accused was identified as Sourabh Sahu of Suraj Bihar in Berhampur. “A case was registered under Section 69 of BNS based on the woman’s allegation on Saturday and he was arrested,” said Subrat Kumar Behura, inspector-in-charge of Baidyanathpur police station. The woman, the classmate of the accused, was allegedly into a relationship with her from 2021 to 2024, on the promise of marrying her.The complainant, however came to know that he was marrying another woman on Sunday. She has lodged an FIR against him with the police. After getting circumstantial evidence, he was arrested before his marriage, said police.
