Times News NetworkKanpur: Jai Narayan Vidya Mandir and Deen Dayal School entered into the quarter-finals (Boys’ group) of the two-day KSS Inter-School Table Tennis (Zone A) championship played at Shri Sanatan Dharam Education Centre here on Monday.Jai Narayan Vidya Mandir outplayed Allen House Khalasi Line by 3-1 and Deen Dayal School drubbed NLK Academy by 3-1. In other pre-quarter finals, DPS Kalyanpur beat Gardenia Public School by 3-0, Chintels School beat Mantora Public School by identical margin (3-0) Guru Nanak Modern School humbled JMD World School by 3-2 and DPS Azad Nagar defeated Heritage International School by 3-0.In the girls’ section, Deen Dayal beat Mantora Public School by 3-0, Jai Narayan Vidya Mandir defeated JMD World School by identical margin and sailed into the quarter finals.Earlier, the host school director Shobha Das and principal Smita Trivedi inaugurated the event in presence of Sanjay Tandon and Sunil Singh, secretary and assistant secretary of Kanpur Table Tennis Association.……………..Football trial: The selection trial for Kanpur division junior team will be held at the Green Park stadium on July 23 and July 24 at 3 pm. The selected team will participate in the junior inter- division state football championship to be held in Mau from August 1 to August 8.According to Ajit Singh, secretary, Kanpur Football Association, players who were born between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2012 may participate in the tournament. The players should bring their birth certificate issued by Nagar Nigam within one year of their birth, original Aadhar card and two pictures for trial participation and report at ground on the stipulated time.
