Kanpur: In a step towards supporting the fight against tuberculosis, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Thursday distributed nutritional support kits among around 100 economically underprivileged TB patients enrolled on the Nikshay Portal.Chief district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh distributed the nutritional support kits to the beneficiaries.Addressing the gathering, the DM said the elimination of tuberculosis requires collective participation from society, healthcare professionals, and the administration.He said such community-supported initiatives would play a crucial role in achieving the goal of a TB-free India.According to IMA secretary Shalini Mohan, the programme was organised under the govt of India’s National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) and in line with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of making India tuberculosis-free by 2030.District tuberculosis officer Subodh Prakash, who attended the event as the guest of honour, extended support in facilitating the participation of enrolled beneficiaries.
