Akola: Police on Friday busted an illegally operating flesh trade den from a residential apartment in the Khadki area of Akola and rescued two women, who hail from Delhi and Jaipur.Acting on a specific tip-off, the Khadan police station team laid a trap by sending a decoy customer to the flat. A woman who owned the falt was detained.A case was registered under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The rescued women will be produced before the competent authority for further legal formalities, counselling and rehabilitation, as per procedure.“We are now probing whether any agents or intermediaries were involved in bringing the women from outside the state,” said Manoj Kedare, station house officer.Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain whether an organised network was operating behind the racket. Technical and documentary evidence is being collected, and additional arrests have not been ruled out.
