Kanpur: A man registered a case against his wife at Rawatpur police station, accusing her of mixing a slow poison into the tea served to him and his parents over a six-month period.The complainant, Himanshu Gupta (32), a resident of Rawatpur, said that he works in Pune and lived with his wife and parents in a posh locality of the city.He alleged that he and his parents had developed several health issues over the past few weeks. He further claimed that his parents’ medical reports indicated chemical ingestion.Gupta said that his suspicions grew when his mother told him that she had seen her daughter-in-law mixing a suspicious substance into their tea.He claimed that CCTV footage showed his wife mixing an unidentified substance into the tea served to the family.When confronted with the CCTV footage, his wife allegedly left the house and later filed a dowry harassment and assault case against her husband and in-laws.DCP West SM Qasim Abidi said, “After recording the statements of the doctors, a case was registered against the accused wife. The woman has also filed a case against her in-laws alleging assault and dowry harassment. Further action will be taken after the investigation.”
