Srinagar, Aug 24: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience generally hot and humid weather over the coming days, with brief spells of rain and thundershowers expected at scattered places, according to the Meteorological Centre Srinagar.
The weather department said that from August 24 to 28, brief spells of rain or thundershowers are likely at scattered places, particularly during the early morning and afternoon hours.
From August 29 to 31, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected at scattered to many places. The department has also forecast brief intense showers at some locations during the early morning and afternoon hours.
For September 1 and 2, generally hot and humid conditions are likely to continue, with brief spells of rain and thundershowers at scattered places. From September 3 to 5, brief spells of rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places.
The Meteorological Centre has advised people to remain cautious as brief intense showers in localised areas may trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides, particularly in vulnerable areas.
Meanwhile, farmers have been advised that they may continue harvesting and other agricultural operations, subject to local weather conditions.
