In a significant ruling, the Patna High Court has approved the regular bail request of Md Rizvi, who faced arrest for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his deceased mother. This arrest followed the emergence of a controversial video linked to a Grand Alliance rally.

Patna: The Patna high court granted regular bail to a person allegedly involved in raising objectionable and abusive slogans against PM Narendra Modi and his deceased mother after a Grand Alliance rally in Aug last year.A single bench of justice Arun Kumar Jha allowed the bail plea of Md Rizvi alias Raja on Wednesday. The order became public on Thursday.An FIR was lodged against Rizvi in Simri police station on Aug 28 last year following a viral video showing objectionable language used against the PM and his deceased mother after the dispersal of an opposition rally.He was arrested on Aug 29 and remained in judicial custody as an undertrial prisoner. His counsel submitted that no objectionable material was recovered from his mobile phone seized by police.
