Lucknow: The beautification drive to enhance Hazratganj’s aesthetic appeal with greater organisation and uniformity in colour and signage was discussed in a meeting headed by district magistrate Vishak G with officials and trade association representatives on Monday.The discussions led to an agreement on the colour and design of buildings, signage, street furniture, bollards, and electric poles, all aimed at giving Hazratganj a refreshed appearance.According to officials, the changes will reflect the Awadhi style with minor adjustments to the colour of the buildings. The implementation of facade control guidelines is expected to enhance the market’s heritage appeal, potentially attracting more tourists. Traders have been encouraged to comply with these guidelines and assist in organising signage and removing haphazard hoardings.Lucknow Development Authority vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar said that the beautification plan includes the installation of cast iron railings, wooden finish benches and double-arm street lights. Pathways will be organised, and attractively designed dustbins will be placed strategically. Electric poles on the central verge will be removed and replaced by street lights installed on both sides of the road.The meeting was attended by officials and engineers from Lucknow Municipal Corporation, PWD, Lucknow Metro, and Jalkal among other departments.
