Prayagraj: The Allahabad high court has adjourned till April 15 the hearing of a petition seeking an ASI survey for the Gyanvapi mosque’s wazukhana (ablution) area, excluding the structure described by the Hindu side as a Shivling and the Muslim side as a fountain.Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal passed the order on a civil revision petition filed by Rakhi Singh, one of the plaintiffs in the Shringar Gauri Worshiping suit before the Varanasi court. The revision has been filed challenging the Varanasi district judge’s order dated Oct 21, 2023, refusing to direct the ASI to survey the Wazukhana area, except the Shivling inside the Gyanvapi Mosque. The court adjourned the case as the respondent’s counsel informed that the matter is being heard in the Supreme Court, with the next hearing scheduled for March 13.
