Gurgaon: MCG on Thursday conducted an enforcement drive against illegal drinking water and sewerage connections in Daulatabad industrial area and Surat Nagar. The drive led to the disconnection of 58 illegal connections. One illegal bulk connection of 50 units and eight other unauthorised connections, mostly linked to industrial and commercial establishments, were disconnected.Officials said similar action had been taken earlier in the area, but some users had reconnected the illegal lines. MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said the drive will continue across the city. “I appeal to residents to obtain connections only through the legitimate process and take advantage of the corporation’s online system,” he said. The civic body recently introduced an online module to simplify the process of applying for drinking water and sewerage connections. The system is available on MCG’s official website.Officials said new connections can be obtained using a property ID and identity proof such as Aadhaar or voter ID, eliminating the need for multiple visits to civic offices and making the process faster, more transparent and citizen-friendly.
