Gurgaon: Three people have been arrested for allegedly assaulting a pathlab collector, filming him naked and extorting Rs 2 lakh from him in the Mohammadpur Jharsa area on the Dwarka Expressway in late Feb. The staffer, who works at a diagnostic centre in Sector 83, was allegedly lured to a flat in AVL 36 society on Dwarka Expressway on the pretext of collecting a blood sample.The man first visited the flat on Feb 25 to collect a sample from a 24-year-old woman identified as Jyoti, who took his phone number to receive the report. She later began contacting him frequently, asking him to meet her again, he alleged.On March 2, when he returned to collect another sample, the woman left the door open after he entered, allowing two other men to walk in. “The three accused assaulted him, forced him to strip, and filmed him naked,” an officer said.Police said the accused then threatened to implicate him in a false rape case and forced him to transfer money. They took him around in a Scorpio SUV and demanded an additional Rs 5 lakh, which he did not give. After five hours, they dropped him off at the society where his bike was parked.The incident came to light after the man filed a complaint at Sector 37 police station.The two accused men, who are also in their early twenties, were identified as Harish Yadav alias Monu, a resident of Kahnavas village in Rajasthan’s Alwar; and Shyam Sundar alias Ashok, a resident of Khairoli village in Mahendragarh. They were arrested on March 7, while Jyoti, a resident of Taj Nagar village in the city, was arrested on March 8.Police said the three accused became acquainted through Instagram. They began to conspire to extort money by trapping men.“During the investigation, police recovered Rs 1.63 lakh of the Rs 2 lakh and seized the Scorpio and four phones. After completion of police custody remand, the accused were produced before a court and sent to judicial custody,” police spokesperson ASI Sandeep Turan said.
