Amritsar: The management of Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar, Dubai, has announced temporary closure of the shrine until further notice, citing security reasons.The decision was taken as per instructions received from the Govt of Dubai, said an official communication issued by the management.The management of gurdwara, one of the most prominent Sikh religious centres in the Gulf region, in the release said that the move is aimed at ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the Sangat. “We regret the inconvenience caused and request the Sangat’s understanding and cooperation.”The management also extended prayers for the safety and wellbeing of all devotees during this period.The sudden closure came as a surprise to many members of the Sikh community in the UAE and visiting devotees, as the gurdwara remains a key spiritual and community hub.No timeline has been specified for reopening, and further updates are expected based on the security situation. It is learned that the Hindu temples and churches have been issued the same instructions.
