Ahmedabad: A controversy has emerged over the internal exam schedule for Semester 3 and Semester 5 students at Govt Arts College, Maninagar, as students are required to appear for two exams on the same day. According to the NEP timetable for Sep 2026, exams have been scheduled from Sep 28 to Oct 1.On Sep 28, Semester 3 students have an exam from 2.30pm to 3.30pm, followed by another from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. Similarly, Semester 5 students have two papers scheduled consecutively.The issue has raised questions among students regarding the absence of a proper break between the two exams.Concerns have been raised over whether scheduling the exams without a proper break complies with university exam rules, and whether students’ physical and mental well-being was considered while preparing the timetable.The college’s instructions state that appearing for the internal exam is mandatory, as internal marks will be submitted to the university. Students have also been instructed to reach their allotted seats at least 15 minutes before the exam. Late entry will not be permitted.The college has prohibited students from carrying mobile phones or other electronic devices into the examination room. Disciplinary action may be taken against students found indulging in malpractice or indiscipline.Students are now seeking clarification from the authorities and demanding that the examination schedule be reviewed in the interest of students.
