Kanpur: A junior resident doctor (JR-2), Dr Vinod Kumar Bind of the orthopedics department at Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial (GSVM) Medical College, died while on duty in Kanpur on Thursday morning. Doctors suspect he suffered a heart attack.Dr Bind was on night duty in the emergency department of Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital. A resident of Jaunpur, he was pursuing his junior residency in the orthopedics department at GSVM Medical College.Head of the orthopedics department, Dr Chandan Kumar, said, “Dr Vinod Kumar suddenly developed chest pain in the morning.”He immediately consulted doctors from the medicine department in the emergency ward and was shifted to the ICU, where treatment was started without delay. However, despite all efforts, he could not be revived and was declared dead at around 8 am. His family members have been informed.
