Kanpur: The parents of a teenage girl have filed a rape case against a 68-year-old jeweller in Darshanpurwa, alleging that he raped their daughter while she was working at the shop and threatened to kill her.The family submitted a complaint at the Police Commissioner’s office, following which Fazalganj Police registered an FIR on Wednesday.According to the survivor’s family, their 13-year-old daughter is a Class V student. Both of their daughters worked as salesgirls at Ashok Rastogi’s shop. They alleged that in April, Rastogi took the 13-year-old to a farmhouse in Bithoor and raped her. The family further alleged that in May, the accused forcibly raped the girl inside a room constructed within the shop. They claimed that when she protested, he threatened to rape her elder sister as well and implicate the family in a false case.The family said the girl became withdrawn after the incidents. When her mother asked about her condition, the girl narrated the entire sequence of events. Following this, the family lodged a complaint at the Police Commissioner’s office.Fazalganj SHO Dhananjay Pandey said, “A case has been registered against the accused, Ashok Rastogi, under charges including rape, Pocso and other relevant sections.”
