Bhubaneswar: To cover all public infrastructure assets across departments, the state govt will establish a Centralised Asset Registry and develop a Unified Works Passbook. Each asset will be standardised through a 10-digit unique asset ID and will be mandatorily geo-tagged with codes. The system will capture details of ongoing, completed and maintenance and upgradation works. The Centralised Asset Registry will function as a unified, secure database to track physical assets of different departments. The “Odisha Works Passbook — Enterprise GIS System (Digital Register) for Public Works” was recently approved for implementation.Odisha Space Applications Centre (ORSAC) will proceed with phase-I implementation as per the proposed timeline. In the initial phase, the application will be implemented in one district, followed by a sequential rollout to ensure system stability, performance validation, and smooth statewide expansion. All departments were directed to integrate their asset data with the works passbook within 60 days by maintaining an online asset registry. Departments that do not have an asset registry will be required to adopt the Works and Accounts Management Information System (WAMIS) asset module.Departments without any web application will be mandatorily onboarded into WAMIS within the stipulated timeline. Mandatory geo-tagging and unique asset ID generation will also be completed within prescribed timelines, according to the minutes of a high-level committee meeting chaired by the development commissioner.
