Shimla: The BJP has accused the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led govt of serious financial mismanagement following revelations in the 2023-24 audit report of the Himachal Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing Board that highlighted over Rs 110 crore in advances remaining unadjusted and unaccounted for.BJP chief spokesperson and MLA Rakesh Jamwal on Monday called it a major governance failure. He said the audit also flagged a discrepancy of nearly Rs 49 crore in deposit works, describing the findings as more than routine accounting errors.Jamwal claimed that several advances remained pending for years without proper utilisation certificates, while inconsistencies between contributory provident fund (CPF) accounts and bank balances raised concerns about weak financial controls and a lack of transparency.Targeting the ruling Congress, Jamwal said the promised “vyavastha parivartan (systemic change)” instead resulted in administrative breakdown. He alleged that public funds meant for farmers and mandi committees were not properly monitored.The BJP demanded an independent probe, criminal proceedings against those responsible, and a public clarification from the chief minister regarding the unadjusted funds and the Rs 49-crore discrepancy.Jamwal warned that if corrective action was not taken, the party would escalate the issue both inside and outside the legislative assembly, asserting that Himachal Pradesh deserves transparent and accountable governance.MSID:: 128944928 413 |
