Patna: The tourism department has announced a state-wide video-making competition, ‘Shravani Mela 2026: Through an Influencer’s Lens’, to promote the cultural and spiritual heritage of the month-long fair through social media content.The competition is open to Indian citizens aged 18 years and above with at least 25,000 combined followers across Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube. Participants must create reels or videos on the Shravani Mela, scheduled from July 30 to Aug 28, along the Kanwariya Path in Munger, Banka and Bhagalpur districts.Tourism secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh said the initiative aims to encourage content creators to showcase the fair to a wider audience. The winner will receive Rs 3 lakh, while the second- and third-place winners will get Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh, respectively. Two contestants securing fourth place will receive Rs 50,000 each, and five consolation prizes of Rs 25,000 each will also be awarded.Videos must be 30 seconds to two minutes long, shot in HD quality, geo-tagged within the mela area and free from logos, watermarks, copyrighted content or AI-generated material.Entries will be submitted through a Google Form available on the tourism department’s website. Final evaluation will be based on a jury assessment as well as the reach, likes and shares the shortlisted videos receive over 45 days.
