Vadodara: A gang of cyberfrauds duped a shop-owner in the city by sending him an e-challan malware file on his WhatsApp number. Sixty-five-year-old Mitesh Dave, a resident of Gotri Road, has filed a complaint of cheating at Cybercrime police station.Dave received an APK file named RTO challan on his WhatsApp on Tuesday and clicked on it. Within a couple of hours, Dave received messages on his phone that all incoming calls on his phone have been forwarded to some other mobile numbers.Before he could understand anything, he started getting messages about money being debited from his bank account. The cybercrooks siphoned over Rs 7.46 lakh from his bank account. He immediately called his bank and requested to block all payments from his account before approaching the police.
