Panaji: The Goa postal department will soon launch 24 Speed Post, a premium next-day delivery service for domestic consignments. Senders get a full postage refund if India Post fails to deliver within 24 hours, provided an online claim is filed within seven days.Postal officials told TOI that the proposed service is designed to guarantee delivery of Speed Post articles within 24 hours between post offices in Goa. The service will initially cover Speed Post letters and later include parcels.For destinations outside Goa, Speed Post services will continue to operate under the existing network, with delivery expected within about 48 hours, depending on the destination.“Govt offices are among the largest users of Speed Post services. However, individuals are also expected to benefit from quicker delivery of important documents and parcels,” the official said.The official launch date has not yet been finalised. The service is currently operating in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad, where parcels up to 5kg and documents up to 500g can be mailed. The recipient verification is handled via an SMS OTP for added security.
