Panaji: The Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) will review all ongoing and proposed projects in South Goa over the coming weeks, with chairman Michael Lobo saying five major projects will be completed and inaugurated by Dec, while the Rs 15-20 crore Rawanfond bridge is expected to be ready by Oct.Lobo said the board has already reviewed two projects and plans to inspect another seven to eight, with teams conducting site visits from morning to evening to assess progress and quality. Around 10 projects are under review, including the wholesale market, the Rawanfond bridge and the Collem health centre.“The Rawanfond bridge will be ready by Oct. The construction work is in full swing and in the next 10 to 15 days, we are coming to inspect that bridge,” Lobo said.Girder launching for the four-lane bridge began in April, with construction being carried out in phases to minimise disruption to traffic.Lobo said work on the Collem health centre was also progressing as scheduled. He added that GSIDC’s priority was to deliver quality infrastructure to parent departments without compromising construction standards.Maintenance clauses have also been incorporated into contracts, requiring contractors to maintain projects after completion, he said.The review drive comes amid efforts to speed up infrastructure delivery in South Goa. With assembly elections approaching, Lobo and PWD minister Digambar Kamat have been personally leading site inspections to monitor progress and ensure projects meet quality standards and deadlines.
