Kanpur: A fuel station in Kadikheda, Kalyanpur, Kanpur, was temporarily closed after customers complained of irregularities in petrol and a video showing a water-like substance being dispensed from a pipe into a bottle surfaced.However, there was no official confirmation about water or any other substance being mixed with the petrol. Petrol pump manager Anubhav Awasthi said BPCL’s maintenance team from Bhauti, Kanpur, had been called to check the fuel quality.The pump management said around 22 customers, who had bought petrol from the station, were refunded on Tuesday following the complaints. Petrol will not be sold until the cause of the suspected irregularity is established. A decision on restarting operations will be based on BPCL’s investigation and report.Kalyanpur police station in charge Keshav Kumar Tiwari said police had not received any written complaint on the issue yet. The petrol pump has been closed temporarily and further action would be taken on the basis of the district supply officer’s investigation report, he said.
