Nagpur: Nagpur police crime branch busted an interstate firearms module linked to Uttar Pradesh, arresting four accused and recovering two country-made pistols along with 34 live cartridges this week. Acting on a tip-off, the squad, led by police inspector Dilip Chandan and API Nitin Chulpar, launched an operation early Thursday.The team first apprehended Shubham Jangel (24), resident of Bharatwada, under Kalamna police. Jangel, who has a prior criminal record, was found in possession of 2 live cartridges. During interrogation, he revealed the cartridges, a pistol were supplied by Sagar Chaudhary (27), also from Bharatwada, for sale.

Further leads pointed to Shreyas Yadav (23), resident of Bharatwada, Hanuman Mandir area, who allegedly provided the pistol and additional cartridges to Jangel for resale. When Yadav was detained and questioned, he disclosed the weapons were stored with his associate Vansh Sinha (19), from Navin Nagar, under Pardi police.The team, under supervision of DCP Rahul Maknikar, ACP Abhijeet Patil, and addl CP Vasant Pardeshi, raided Sinha’s residence, recovering two country-made pistols (each with magazines), 32 cartridges, two extra empty magazines, and four mobile phones.Interrogation revealed that Yadav purchased the pistols from his relative Sunny Yadav, resident of Badlapur in UP at 35,000 per piece.
