Nagpur: The city witnessed a spiritually uplifting start to the holy month of Ramzan as Muslims across the city observed the first roza with utmost devotion on Thursday. From pre-dawn sehri to evening iftar, mosques and homes reflected an atmosphere of prayer, reflection, and togetherness.Areas like Jafar Nagar, Mominpura and Tajabad were immersed in religious fervour, with mosques witnessing steady footfall for prayers, streets buzzing with iftar preparations. Shops engaged in selling dates, fruits, and traditional delicacies reported swift business, adding to festivities

Javed Ansari, a resident of Mominpura, shared his experience, saying, “The first roza always brings a special feeling of peace and renewal to the soul. Despite the long day, the discipline to fats and prayers give immense strength.”Echoing the sentiments, Zaid Quazi from Jafar Nagar said, “Starting Ramzan with family prayers and Iftar reminds us of gratitude and compassion. It’s about self-reflection and helping those in need.”Community groups announced charity initiatives and shared iftar arrangements across neighbourhoods. With the crescent moon marking the beginning of the holy month, the first day set a tone of unity and generosity as the city now looks ahead to weeks of worship culminating in Eid-ul-Fitr.
