Jhansi: Panic gripped commuters at Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi Railway Station on Saturday morning after a fire broke out in the kitchen of a food plaza on Platform No. 1.The blaze was, however, brought under control quickly, and no injuries were reported.According to officials, the incident occurred at MH Express Food Plaza, a food outlet on Platform No. 1 with access from both sides of the station.Officials said the fire broke out shortly after a worker lit a gas stove in the kitchen.The blaze intensified, and large plumes of smoke were seen billowing from the upper portion of the food plaza, triggering panic among passengers and staff, many of whom rushed to safety.However, the fire department extinguished the blaze before it could spread further.Jhansi division PRO Manoj Kumar Singh said a committee has been constituted to investigate the circumstances that led to the fire.
