Jind: Farmers held a state-level Lalkaar rally in Jind on Tuesday to express their anger against the “ruinous policies” of the state and central govts. Under the banner of Haryana Sanyukta Kisan Morcha, farmers frowned against BJP govt of Haryana for imposing coercive restrictions on farmers for selling their crops. During the event, SKM leaders accused the Naib Saini govt of facilitating a mega paddy bogus procurement scam. Speakers from various farmer organisations addressed the gathering.Senior SKM leader Joginder Singh Ugrahan criticised the Modi govt of “surrendering the interests of farmers and strategic food security to the United States.” He called upon the peasantry to give a stiff fight to imperialist threat to livelihood and sovereignty achieved during freedom struggle. Inderjit Singh, national vice-president of All India Kisan Sabha, condemned the US Israel aggression on Iran. He questioned the Modi govt for not opposing the attack on Iran. Jogender Singh Nain, president of BKU (Nain), attacked the govt its insensitive attitude in denying the huge losses suffered to the standing crops due to unprecedented floods in monsoon. .
