Pune: A farmer (32) and his accomplice were arrested on Monday on the charge of killing the former’s cousin by deliberately ramming his car into the victim’s motorcycle over a property dispute.The Pune rural police identified the deceased as Mahesh Laxman Sathe of Bhavrapur in Haveli taluka. The cousin of the deceased Akshay Dashrath Sathe, a Bhavrapur resident, and his accomplice Gokul Kokare (23) of Ashtapur in Haveli were arrested under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Senior inspector Sachin Wangade of the Uruli Kanchan police said Akshay and Mahesh had a dispute over laying a pipeline in their common farmland. “On Monday, Mahesh came to the police station and lodged a complaint against his cousin and Kokare after the accused beat him up,” Wangade said.The officer said after lodging the complaint, Mahesh rode his motorcycle towards home. The accused, Akshay and Kokare, followed him in a hatchback car. “Akshay hit Mahesh’s motorcycle with his car. He also lost control of the car and went off road,” the officer said.Wangade said Mahesh died due to severe head injuries. Initially, Akshay created a scene that it was an accident. “During interrogation, he admitted to deliberately hitting Mahesh’s motorcycle. Our investigations were on,” Wangade said.
