T’puram: Police on Monday arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly attempting to murder a private bus employee at Kallambalam junction. The accused, Abhijith of Ottoor, Vettimankonam, had been externed from district for eight months on July 16 under Kaapa.However, he allegedly violated the externment order and returned to the district. According to Kallambalam police, the incident occurred on Sunday night when he allegedly attacked a private bus employee, attempting to murder him. The motive behind the attack is yet to be confirmed. Following the incident, a police team led by Kallambalam SHO Gopakumar launched a probe and tracked the accused. Police said the accused is involved in around eight criminal cases, including attempt to murder cases registered at Kallambalam, Kadakkavoor and Varkala police stations. A case has been registered against him for attempt to murder and for violating Kaapa externment order. The accused was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.Abhijith was arrested by a team comprising SI Sunilkumar, ASI Irshad, and SCPOs Aseem and Aneesh. TNN
