Vadodara: Professor R C Patel, former vice chancellor of the Indian Institute of Teacher Education (IITE), has been conferred the Eminent Teacher Educator Award by the Indian Association of Teacher Educators in recognition of his contribution to the field of teacher education.The award was presented by Raju Basnet, minister for education, law, sports and youth affairs, Govt of Sikkim, in the presence of Professor Swain, vice chancellor of Sikkim University, and Professor Mohammad Miyan, former vice chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University. The ceremony was held recently in Gangtok and attended by academicians and education leaders from across the country. City doctor bags awardVadodara: Dr Kedar Mehta, associate professor at GMERS Medical College, Gotri, was honoured in the Excellence in Medical Research category at the Gujarat Healthcare Excellence Awards 2026, held in Gandhinagar on Saturday. Organized by Angdaan Charitable Trust Gujarat, the awards received around 235 applications from across the state, with 33 doctors, hospitals and NGOs felicitated in various categories. The award was presented by Gujarat Assembly speaker and Banas Dairy chairman Shankar Chaudhary.
