Kanpur: A 70-year-old farmer was trampled to death by bulls outside his house on Tuesday night in the village of Parasan, located in the Kadoura block, in Jalaun. The tragedy occurred while the elderly farmer was asleep on a cot outside his house. Around midnight, two bulls fighting came near the cot, and one of the bulls struck the cot, causing the farmer to fall off. He was severely injured after being trampled by the bulls. Hearing the farmer’s cries, his family members rushed outside and chased the bulls away. They were preparing to take the elderly man for medical treatment, but he passed away before they could do so. Jagdish Singh, a 70-year-old resident of the village, was sleeping outside on a cot on Tuesday night. During this time, two bulls fighting came in front of his door. While fighting, the bulls reached the cot, and one of them struck it, causing the elderly man to fall. As soon as he fell, the other bull trampled him. Hearing the farmer’s cries, his sons Sunil, Pushparaj, and Shivam came outside and chased the bulls away, but by then, their father had already died. Jagdish supported his family by farming. Ram Sajeevan, in-charge of the Itaura police outpost, arrived at the scene and sent the body for post-mortem examination after completing the necessary documentation. “The incident has been reported to the local revenue officer and the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM),” he said.
