Dumka: A 17-year-old girl died, and four others were injured when their SUV hit a divider on the Amdiha over-bridge under Pathargama police station limits in Godda district on Tuesday. The impact of the collision left the vehicle mangled. Sara Tiwari (17), who was one of the passengers, was killed on the spot.The incident took place around 7 am, the police said.Police said six people, including two men, two women, and two adolescent girls were travelling in the vehicle to Silchar in Assam to attend a wedding. The accident took place after the driver Dev Tiwari, 42, dozed off and allegedly lost control of the vehicle. Eyewitnesses said the speedy vehicle rammed into the divider on its right. The impact of the collision hurled the SUV 20 feet in the air. It then landed on the wall of a bridge on its left and flipped over.Sara was the daughter of Dev, who was at the wheels. The family is a resident of Khelgaon in Ranchi.“Preliminary investigation suggests that the vehicle was speeding and the driver lost control,” an officer of Pathargama police station said.
