Prayagraj: Sleuths of cyber crime cell of Fatehpur police arrested a notorious ‘zehar khuran’ (drug & rob criminal) identified as Dataram Joshi alias Jainter, resident of Pihani (Hardoi), on Sunday and seized from him a mobile phone and valuables. with over 19 cases listed against him in different police stations of the state and carrying Rs 15,000 cash reward on his head, Joshi was operating an inter-state zehar khuran racket on the Delhi-Ghazibad and Kaushambi-Prayagraj routes, targeting passengers traveling long distance alone in roadways buses.The gang members targeted passengers when buses reached Bhogaon or Mainpur by offering eatables or drinks laced with poisonous substances to passengers and escaped with booty. The gang used to target passengers seen with expensive mobile phones, ATMs, purses and cash. The gang members were also expert in withdrawing money from targets at ATM after contacting bank customer care service and generating new PIN or OTPs.Last week, Joshi’s son Harshit Kumar Joshi was arrested by Fatehpur police.
