Prayagraj: District magistrate Manish Kumar Verma on Wednesday chaired a meeting with representatives of recognised national and state political parties to review preparations related to the rationalisation of polling stations ahead of the electoral roll revision exercise.Additional district magistrate (administration) Upma Pandey informed the meeting that physical verification, re-determination and identification of new polling stations had been completed by the concerned Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) by June 28, in accordance with the Election Commission’s schedule and guidelines.The DM briefed political party representatives on the Commission’s norms for polling station rationalisation, including the prescribed limit of 1,200 voters per polling station.He said the draft list of polling stations would be published on July 4 to invite objections and suggestions. Political parties may submit their representations regarding any changes or modifications to polling stations to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer or the District Election Office, Prayagraj, by July 6.Representatives of all recognised political parties attended the meeting.
