Dharwad: DC Snehal R has directed all government officers and staff — from village to district level — to be present in their offices during working hours, except during field visits, and respond promptly to public grievances.The directions were issued after she received complaints from the public at the tahsildar’s office in Navalgund and chaired a review meeting of taluk-level officials on Wednesday. She instructed officers to address petitions at their level and forward matters to higher authorities only when necessary. Officials were also asked to work sensitively and ensure citizens are not subjected to unnecessary inconvenience.
The DC directed that Bengal gram and jowar procurement centres, opened under the MSP scheme in Navalgund taluk, function effectively. She instructed that one village administrative officer be deputed from the tahsildar’s office to assist farmers with registration and procurement procedures.She also ordered strict action against unauthorised liquor shops and asked local bodies to maintain cleanliness in public toilets.During her visit to Govt Model High School Navalgund, she reviewed SSLC exam preparations and encouraged students to prepare confidently and aim for better results.
