Dhanbad: A bomb threat email sent to SSP Prabhat Kumar about the Dhanbad civil court complex on Wednesday prompted a high-alert response.Advocates, court employees, litigants, and visitors were escorted out while police sealed all entry and exit points. Barricades were erected around the complex, and bomb disposal squads, along with sniffer dogs, conducted a search operation.A remote-like device was found inside a lawyer’s vehicle parked on the premises. Security personnel isolated it, which turned out to be a TV remote kept for repair.Dhanbad Bar Association president Radheshyam Goswami said the administration received information about a possible bomb in 28-Track Court building.Advocate Sudha Mishra said, “Around 11 am, police instructed everyone to leave immediately, forcing many to abandon files and personal belongings inside.”After several hours, no explosives or suspicious materials were found, and the threat was declared a hoax. Police have launched a detailed investigation to trace the origin of the email.SSP Prabhat Kumar said, “Cyber and technical teams are working to identify the sender. Strict legal action will be taken against those responsible for causing panic,” he said.Similar threats were received at the Ranchi civil court on Feb 4 and the district collectorate on Feb 12. Both turned out to be hoax. Both the cases are under probe, said police.
