Srinagar:, May 21:- Residents in Srinagar have raised concerns over delays in revenue-related services, alleging that several cases involving property transfers, building permissions, land verification and stamp duty adjustments have remained pending for weeks.
Locals said people visiting revenue offices for official documentation and clearances are facing repeated delays, causing inconvenience to property owners, home builders and loan applicants.
A resident said a property transfer case in his family has been pending for nearly two months, while documents required for renovation work and land-related bank loans have also not been processed.
“People are making repeated visits to offices, but many files are still awaiting clearance,” he said.
Residents said building permission cases are also being affected due to delays in revenue verification and related formalities, slowing down construction and renovation work in several areas.
They further alleged that applications related to sale and purchase of property, mutation and legal documentation are also facing delays.
Locals also expressed concern over pending stamp duty adjustments linked to attorney registrations.
“Many people had deposited stamp duty after being informed it would later be adjusted during registration, but several cases are still pending,” another resident said.
The residents urged the administration and concerned officials to expedite the disposal of pending applications and streamline revenue services to reduce public inconvenience in Srinagar district.
