Prayagraj: The process of finalising examination centres for the UP Board high school and intermediate examinations-2027 has been delayed, with data from 647 schools still pending with district inspectors of schools (DIOS), raising questions about compliance with the prescribed schedule.Under the examination centre determination policy, school principals were required to upload details of infrastructure, physical resources and other basic facilities on the UP Board website by July 20. The information was then to be physically verified by tehsil-level committees constituted by district magistrates by Aug 3. DIOS officials were required to upload the verified information on the board portal by Aug 10.However, as of Aug 13, only 28,535 of the 29,182 schools affiliated with the UP Board had uploaded the required information. Details of 647 schools had not been forwarded by the concerned DIOS offices. The delay comes ahead of the board’s schedule for publishing the list of selected examination centres. The UP Board is expected to upload the provisional list of examination centres online by Aug 17. DIOS offices will subsequently publish the list on their respective portals by Aug 18 and invite objections from students, parents, principals and school managers until Aug 22.After examining the objections, district-level committees will approve the final report, which must be uploaded on the UP Board portal by Sept 1.Meanwhile, the board has allowed students seeking admission to Classes 9 and 11 to make corrections to their online advance registration details. Earlier, the board had stated that no changes would be permitted after photographs and signatures were uploaded. Following complaints from schools, the board on Thursday relaxed the rule.Schools have now been given time until Aug 20 to upload students’ photographs and signatures, along with an opportunity to make necessary corrections.
