Kanpur: Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Ravindra Kumar on Tuesday carried out a field inspection of routes around Jhakarkati Bus Station, Tatmil Crossing, Zarib Chowki Crossing and Gol Crossing under the Sugam Yatayat Yojana’s Reducing Traffic Congestion (RTC) Scheme.The official assessed traffic arrangements, road congestion, illegal parking, the movement of e-rickshaws and auto-rickshaws, roadside encroachments, and overall traffic management at key intersections.He instructed that e-rickshaws, e-autos, tempos and similar vehicles must pick up and drop passengers at least 100 metres away from major crossings and T-junctions.He also ordered a campaign against vehicles halting unnecessarily on roads and called for the identification and removal of bottlenecks at crossings and T-junctions to reduce passenger travel time.Kumar also directed the relevant officials and traffic staff to take swift and effective steps to maintain traffic flow.
