Kanpur: Panki police on Tuesday registered an FIR against a man, identified as Suraj Rajput of Gambhirpur village, for allegedly running a speeding tempo over a 45-year-old woman and killing her on the spot in what the victim’s family allege was a revenge attack.According to the victim’s sons, Govind and Vikas, their mother, Rajeshwari, was deliberately run over by Suraj Rajput’s tempo on Monday night, resulting in her death on the spot.They told police that they had a heated argument with Suraj Rajput two days before the incident and alleged that he killed their mother to settle scores over the dispute.After the postmortem, the victim’s family placed the body on a village road, staged a blockade and demanded the arrest of the accused.After receiving information, Panki station in charge reached the spot and assured the family of a fair investigation.Later, on the basis of a written complaint from the family, police registered a murder case against Suraj Rajput.
