Ganderbal, Aug 5: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, on Wednesday reviewed the district’s preparedness for Census-2027, with special focus on ensuring smooth enumeration in snow-bound areas.
Chairing a review meeting, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the roadmap for conducting the Census and stressed the need for meticulous planning to ensure accurate, timely and comprehensive enumeration across the district.
He directed all Tehsildars to complete preparatory activities well in advance and ensure that all logistical, administrative and manpower arrangements are put in place. T
ehsildars of snow-bound areas were asked to identify vulnerable locations and prepare a detailed strategy for completing Census operations before the onset of winter, ensuring that no household is left uncovered.
Emphasising the importance of quality data, Kishore instructed officers to maintain accuracy, transparency and strict adherence to Census guidelines at every stage.
He described Census-2027 as a vital national exercise and called for close coordination among all departments to ensure its successful conduct in the district.
