Vadodara: Panic gripped the Bil area of the city on Sunday evening after a huge crocodile was spotted lurking in a stormwater drain and attacking a buffalo that had ventured too close to the water.The reptile seized the buffalo and attempted to drag it into the drain, but the determined animal fought back and managed to break free. Local residents, who witnessed the entire struggle of the buffalo, rushed to the spot and found the injured animal sitting in the shallow waters, while the crocodile continued to lurk nearby.The residents immediately alerted fire brigade personnel who soon arrived at the scene and managed to scare the crocodile away, allowing them to safely rescue the buffalo from the stormwater drain.The injured buffalo was taken to a veterinary hospital for treatment.
