Vadodara: GSFC University will hold its eighth convocation ceremony on Aug 29, with 815 students set to receive degrees across technology, science, and management disciplines.The graduating batch includes 488 male and 327 female students from the school of technology, school of science and school of management and entrepreneurship.Padma Bhushan Dr V K Saraswat, former director general of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and a permanent member of NITI Aayog, will be the chief guest. He will present 17 gold and 15 silver medals to students for academic excellence.Female students have outperformed their male counterparts for the second consecutive year, securing 12 of the 17 gold medals, university officials said.The degrees will be formally conferred by P K Taneja, IAS (retd), president of GSFC University.Members of the university’s governing body and board of management, govt officials, industry leaders, faculty members, graduating students and their parents are expected to attend the ceremony.
