Aurangabad: The court of Aurangabad Principal District and Sessions Judge Rajiv Ranjan Kumar has ordered to stop the salary of Rafiganj station house officer (SHO) for failing to comply with a judicial direction to produce a witness in a pending sessions trial on Monday.The action was taken during the hearing of Rafiganj police station case no. 366/22, linked to sessions trial no. 594/25. The SHO had been served a show-cause notice on July 31 after the prosecution witness was not produced before the court. Despite the direction, the witness had not been presented till Monday, prompting the court to treat the lapse as non-compliance with its order and direct that the officer’s salary remain withheld until further orders.The court has previously taken similar action against the Rafiganj SHO in two other sessions trials for failure to comply with judicial directions.Meanwhile, three other SHOs have been issued show-cause notices for failing to ensure the presence of witnesses during proceedings. The cases involve Madanpur police station case no. 138/20, Obra police station case no. 75/19 and Haspura police station case no. 301/22. The court has fixed a time frame for the officers to submit their replies.
