KRISHNAGIRI: A man and his wife were electrocuted near Hosur in Krishnagiri district on Sunday evening after they came in contact with a live wire. The deceased have been identified as K Narayanappa, 46, of Poonapalli and his wife Renuka, 43. Narayanappa was engaged in centring work while Renuka was a homemaker. They had a son and a daughter, police said.The incident happened when Narayanappa was hanging clothes on the terrace. A live cable was in touch with the wire they used for hanging clothes. Narayanappa was electrocuted when he touched the wire. “Renuka, who heard his cries, rushed to help him. She too was electrocuted,” said an officer at the Mathigiri police station.On Sunday evening, Narayanappa’s daughter Harshita, who works at a private company, returned home after her shift. As there was no one inside the house, she went to the terrace and found her parents dead. She alerted neighbours who in turn informed the Mathigiri police.The police recovered the bodies and sent them to the Hosur Government Hospital for postmortem.
