Hyderabad: Congress leader and Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy on Sunday again took a swipe at his own party govt during the assembly discussion on budget allocations for education, irrigation and other departments. He said party MLAs were not getting adequate funds for their constituencies and claimed financial support was largely being directed to constituencies represented by ministers. He said govt resources should not be confined to a few and questioned whether MLAs must depend on ministers to secure funds for their areas.Rajagopal Reddy also said there should be no discrimination in resource allocation between north and south Telangana. Regarding Khammam district, he said that it has three ministers and suggested many govt benefits appear concentrated there. He further remarked that while chief minister Revanth Reddy was focused on developing Kodangal, other MLAs were struggling to develop their own constituencies. He said Munugode would be developed when Congress returns to power, but added that there was currently a lack of cooperation. He also alleged that assistance was being diverted to Uttam Kumar Reddy’s Huzurnagar and accused the govt of poor resource management. At the same time, he praised the previous Congress govt for disciplined governance and better decision making. He said several irrigation projects, like Dindi, were not completed for Munugode, despite the reservoir work being completed.“Our assembly constituency has the highest fluoride levels in the world, our people are looking at us with hope, the Congress govt is more transparent than the BRS tenure. But it needs to look at all constituencies,” he added.Talking about his brother, roads and buildings minister Venkat Reddy’s department, he said, “HAM road project is good, you have also called for tenders for a few packages, but one has to be careful about them. Contractors will exploit the bill without independent engineering experts simultaneously assessing the projects. I have this experience. I appeal to my brother to look into this aspect. He should take my suggestions, too,” he added.
