Prayagraj: The district Congress unit on Tuesday claimed that police placed around a dozen party leaders, including Allahabad MP Ujjwal Raman Singh, under house arrest ahead of their scheduled visit to Ayodhya to offer prayers at the Ram Temple.Party leaders alleged that the Yogi Adityanath govt “got scared” and directed police to prevent them from visiting Ayodhya.Congress spokesman Haseeb Ahmed told TOI that party leaders had planned to leave for Ayodhya on a call given by UPCC chief Ajay Rai to offer prayers at the Ram Temple on Tuesday. “However, police placed around a dozen senior leaders, including Allahabad MP Ujjwal Raman Singh and Sanjay Tiwari, under house arrest,” he claimed.
