Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday announced a 99-day Praja Palana-Pragati Pranalika programme from March 6 to June 19 to take welfare schemes and development plans closer to the people. He also said that the Congress govt will simplify and make govt services more convenient for the people to access them easily from the comfort of their homes.During a review meeting with the chief secretary, principal secretaries, secretaries of all departments, and DGP Shivadhar Reddy, the CM said: “Be it the welfare schemes, civic services, permission for an electricity meter, building construction approval, drinking water connection, or any other such service, the people should be able to get it online from their homes. The govt will bring in radical reforms in service delivery by using technology.” Meanwhile, he also announced a special committee headed by senior IAS officer Jayesh Ranjan to implement technological reforms. “The committee should submit its report within three weeks. Every department should implement this office system and digital governance, and the old servers that store data related to all departments should be updated to be suitable for the next 20 years,” he said.The CM said there should be a convenient system for the applicant to know where their file is pending. Welfare schemes should be implemented strictly, and technology should be used in this too, he added. “Using technology, ration cards, 500 gas cylinders, free electricity up to 200 units, Aarogyasri should be extended to all eligible people, and Indiramma houses should be provided to all those who do not have a house on their own land. The process of applying for ration cards should continue continuously, he said.Furthermore, he directed the chief secretary to get a special logo designed for the 99-day programme.Revanth also directed the officials to take up a sanitation and hygiene drive by all departments in these 99 days.The CM said that he would personally monitor the progress of the 99-day programme and conduct regular reviews. He warned that shortcomings in the performance of officers would not be tolerated.
