The CM performs ‘Rudrabhishek’ at Gorakhnath Temple

Gorakhpur: Chief minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath performed ‘Rudrabhishek’ at the Gorakhnath Temple on Monday, marking the second Monday of the holy month of Shrawan.The ritual was performed at the Shaktipeeth located on the first floor of the chief minister’s residence within the temple premises. Yogi offered water and cow’s milk to Lord Shiv, along with traditional offerings including bel leaves, durva grass, madar leaves and lotus flowers.The ‘Rudrabhishek’ was conducted by scholars and priests of the Gorakhnath Math through the chanting of mantras from the Rudrashtadhyayi of the Shukla Yajurveda Samhita.Following the ritual, Yogi performed a havan amid Vedic chants, bringing the ceremony to a conclusion.The chief minister prayed to Lord Shiv for the welfare of all, seeking health, happiness, prosperity and peace for the people of Uttar Pradesh and entire country.
