Varanasi: Shahabganj police in Chandauli district on Sunday arrested two including a juvenile into custody for allegedly raping a minor girl after luring her with money.Chandauli’s CO Chakia Ajit Singh Singh Chauhan said the family of 13-year-old girl filed a complaint with Shahabganj police station on Saturday alleging that an 18-year-old boy and his 16-year-old friend raped her. Shahabganj police immediately lodged an FIR under section 70(2)(gang rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and sections 5(k)/6 of the POCSO Act.Shahabganj police traced and arrested the two accused into police custody and started necessary legal proceedings as per juvenile justice law against the 16-year-old, said officals.During initial investigation by police, it came to light that the accused enticed the minor girl by offering money. Police are examining all facts, evidence and circumstances connected with the incident. The arrested accused are being questioned and the role of other possible persons involved is also under investigation.
