Israel has announced a major housing programme for military reservists as the country continues relying heavily on its reserve forces amid ongoing military operations. The government plans to offer around 20,000 discounted housing opportunities, including 16,000 apartments and 4,000 residential land plots. Eligible reservists could receive discounts exceeding $167,000, while 75% of apartments will receive priority allocation for reservists. The programme, backed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Haim Katz and Bezalel Smotrich, is expected to roll out during 2026 and 2027. The move comes after strong demand in Israel’s latest housing lottery, highlighting growing support for military reservists.
